Mad Tom

Brewery: Muskoka Brewery

Type: IPA

ABV: 6.4%

IBU: 64

Appearance / Aroma: Smells strongly of floral/citrus hops. Maybe a bit of grain in there, too. The head is thick and fluffy with the beer being hazy orange.

Taste / Feel: The can says dry hopped so, even though it smells quite hoppy, I wasn’t expecting it to be bitter. I was right! In fact, the hop flavor is intense but it comes and goes without much bitterness at all. This is the second dry hopped beer in a row and I think I’ve found another love. There is also a clearly defined malted grain flavor there but the perfumed, floral hop is the star.

The aftertaste has, perhaps, some faint bitterness but it doesn’t burn or aggravate in any way. It’s more of a sensation at the sides of my tongue.

Muskoka Brewery has not disappointed, yet again. It’s a great drink and really showcases how good hops can be.
