Brewery: Great Lakes Brewery
Type: English Pale Ale
Appearance / Aroma: Hop aroma at the front with tangy raisin and malted grain layer beneath. It has a beautiful, rich red wood color with a frothy and generous head that leaves moderate lacing on the glass.
Taste / Feel: Goes down quite clean with a fairly light body. Up front there’s a nice creaminess to it that fortified by a cereal grain flavor. It’s also slightly sweet and I’m not getting much hop flavor after all. Actually, I did notice the hops in the first 1-2 sips but it almost transformed into a malt beer after. There’s also very little bitterness here and the exhale brings that grain back in a subtle way.
Overall, it’s ok! There’s nothing offensive about it, but there’s also nothing that excites me, either. I bought a 4-case and it was good! I would get more.
