Brewery: Stiegl Brewery (Austria)

Type: German Pilsner

ABV: 4.9%

Opinion:  Nice creamy frothy head/ although it has a slight neon glow from the bubbles which looks a bit sudsy like soap.  Regardless lots of lacing on the glass, nice thick froth- beauty.  Typical shimmering golden pils color, and malty aroma.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, hops.  Good pure Austrians.

A delightful mouthfeel of foam as I sip.  And then a nice semi-dry malt experience which leaves the mouth a bit lined.  There’s a hint of a roast malt, but overall it’s a very balanced lager with little complexity.  A very good everyday beer.

In the center of Salzburg, Austria- is the brewery which makes this beer.  They are just outside and down a few little steps from the Festung Hohensalzburg fortress.  ‘Stiegl’ is German for ‘little steps’.  I like that.

This is likely my favorite of the German pilsners (pils) as they call them.
