Warsteiner Double Hopped

3

Brewery: Warsteiner Brewery

Type: Pilsner

ABV: 4.8%

Appearance / Aroma / Body: Citrus-hop smell with an undertone of oatmeal. Head is big and fluffy, the kind that sticks to your beard and nose when you take a sip. Great clarity with a light honey color.

Taste / Feel: The taste is fairly light but the flavor is there – it doesn’t seem watery. The can says mild hops and I tend to agree. They’re not overpowering and have a really delicate, fruity taste. There’s a very mild bitterness beneath all the layers that results in a subtle presence on the back edges of the tongue in the aftertaste.

On the other side of it, there’s a pale grain flavor, not roasted, but almost fresh and clean. Also a bit of creaminess, reminds me of oatmeal – even though the body is quite light.

The only reason I’m docking a few marks here is that I can taste something metallic in there, like a copper. Overall, reminds me of something like DAB but with a mild hop twist.

I feel like I might like this one more than you. Also going to look out for it.
