Brewery: Creemore Springs

Type: Dark Beer

ABV: 6%

IBU: 28

Appearance / Aroma / Body: Good pour on this beer with a really nice, dense, creamy head. It sticks around for an appropriate amount of time and leaves nice lacing on the glass as it recedes. It smells like dark but sweet malts and something fruity, like raisins, and has a uniform chestnut brown color.

Taste / Feel: Right away I can taste a roasted, nutty malt that slowly turns into sweet raisins towards the end of the mouthful. The whole time there’s a tangy undertone, possibly like a sour apple, that balances the roasted malt and sweet raisin. The aftertaste is bright and tangy and lingers until your next sip.

The body is medium and the whole beer seems creamy, like the head.

Overall, it’s a good beer. Not great, but good.

I haven’t had this one- but I might have to say Creemore is one of the most consistently good Ontario Brewers out there. The classic lager, the Lot 9 Pilsner, and now this which you give 3.5. I haven’t had their other one: with a German name. But from my experience- quality beer makers.

Agreed! This one is actually the worst of the lot… even though it’s still miles ahead of a lot of other beers.
