Hermann’s Dark Lager

on

3.5

Brewery: Vancouver Island Brewing

Type: Munich Dunkel Lager

ABV: 5%

Thoughts:   Typical hazy gloss over the top.  Dark beers are beautiful.  It’s velvety in texture, has a warm and toasty, toffee malt.  The aftertaste is a soft and spicy at the same time.  I like it. I am not a refined dark beer taster, so I don’t have much to add.  It’s a nice beer though.

Do you recall much bitterness? Either way I’d love to try it.

Very little bitterness. More malt heavy than Hop.

Actually, I would really like if you tried this, so I can get the opinion of a tue dark beer drinker. Have you ever heard of a ‘Dark Lager’ before?
